About

My Name is Jay

I was born and reared in NYC and was a child of the 50’s and 60’s there. I have lived in some  wonderful places over the years. New Mexico, Florida, New Orleans.  I reside now in Texas and have been here since 82.

Family
Married and divorced one time. That ended in 1999. I would have loved a life partner following that but so far it just has not seemed to be God’s plan.  I have two daughters. and have been a single dad to my youngest girl who is now in her mid 20’s. With her I have a grand son and a grand daughter. Both are precious.  My older daughter has had two sons and a daughter.  Sadly, we are estranged.  I love my daughters and grand children,  with all that I am.

Career(s)
I spent almost 3 decades in media  particularly broadcast radio and TV.  I’ve done web design, graphics work, photography, photo restoration.  I worked for 12 years helping  folks who have trouble with hearing.  I retired from that late in 2017. I love music, comfort food cooking and of late have been studying and chronicling my ancestry.

Faith
I am stepping into faith in a new way. I was baptized as a child in the Reformed Church in America / Dutch Reformed Church in Queens. church image I attended Sunday School for 7 years, and was confirmed in the church as a teen. I have strayed quite a bit from faith over many decades but my spirit has always been a kind-hearted one.

In 2012 I was Baptized at Community of Faith in Hockley, Texas. I now currently occassion Hope City in Houston at the Memorial City campus. Both my daughters were baptized there in January of 2017.

At a bible study class  a few years ago the question came up, what would you want said about you  after you pass on.  I think I’d be pleased if someone would say  “He always tried to leave things better than he found them.”

That’s a little bit about me.

Many years ago, we have met. You had the most beautiful and generous heart then, and still today you are expressing yourself in that manner. Much love and appreciation to you, dear J.
